How it all Began...
Annie and Jan started to support Kwasa through the nursery school they ran, West Green, in 2010. Starting with pupil letter exchanges, in 2012 we formed West Green Charity to help Sharron move Kwasa from an informal pre-school, to her vision of a high quality Pre-Primary (and eventual) High School.
Sharron is a trustee of our charity, along with Annie and Jan, and Phil and Rich. We do not draw salaries or expenses, and we have no paid employees. Biographies of the five of us are below:
Rich Benton
Trustee and Chair
An entrepreneur, accountant and businessman, Rich discovered social entrepreneurship when he became trustee and Chair of UnLtd in the UK. He is a supporter for LifeCoUnLtd South Africa, and an active funder for Kwasa’s growth from pre-school into a full 3-18 Kwasa College.
Annie Benton
Trustee
Retired co-owner and manager of West Green Nursery School, Annie has taught adult, secondary and pre-school students. With Jan and the parents and children of West Green, she has for a number of years supported Sharron and Kwasa.
